Housing For Curates

The diocese did not seem to be aware of the pressing need for the whole question of adequate housing for assistant priests and curates to be considered, the Rev. K. T. Davy told the Christchurch Diocesan Synod. The synod passed Mr Davy’s motion that the standing committee be requested to consider ways in which adequate housing could be provided. The synod also agreed to ask the standing committee to consider increasing the stipends of married assistant curates by £5O a year.
