In Difficult Job

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 21. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Kirk) referred during the valedictory addresses in Parliament on Friday to the move he made to the front benches earlier this year as Leader of the Parliamentary Labour Party. “Coming down to sit in this seat is a very long journey,” he said. Earlier, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) paid tribute to Mr Kirk for his understanding and co-operation. “I have occupied the Leader of the Opposition’s seat and I know what it is like,” he said. “It is a very difficult job.”
