N.Z. Dancers In Ballet Premiere
(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, Oct. 23. Four New Zealand dancers have joined the newly-formed Ballet Rambert Company, which will present five ballets new to London and give the world premier of another during its London season at the Cochrane Theatre.
The season will open on November 28. In its new form, the company no longer has a corps de ballet, but instead lists'its 18 soloists alphabetically. The New Zealanders are Patricia Rianne, of Palmerston North, Marilyn Williams, of Wellington, Terry James, of Auckland, and Paul Vlasic, of Auckland. ' The world premiere will be “Time Base,” the first ballet of John Chesworth. It is based on different aspects of time and its effects on human development. It is in four sections—one danced to a
spoken recording of the “Pocket Oxford Dictionary’s” definition of time.
