PUBLIC NOTICES WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL CONDITIONAL USE PURSUANT to Ordinance 8 (3) of the Council’s Code of Ordinances, public notification is hereby given that an application has been received for permission to shift Petrol Pumps from existing positions to alternative sites on adjoining property (Lot 1. D.P. 22961) to the Garage at the Corner of Prestons and Marshland roads. The proposal would constitute a Conditional Use in a Rural Zone and any approval given by the Council would be subject to the following conditions: 1. That the entrance and exit in Marshland road closest to Prestons road be sited not closer than 75ft to the intersection of Prestons and Marshland roads and be not greater than 30ft in width. 2. That the southern entrance on Marshland road commence at the southern boundary and be not greater than 30ft in width. 3. That a further entrance/ exit way be sited on Prestons road not closer than 75ft to the intersection of Prestons and Marshland roads and the width of the opening be not greater than 30ft. 4. That the proposed siting of the Petrol Pumps be temporarily allowed to be sited on the existing road widening line until physical road widening takes place at which time the pumps must be resited on the property not closer than 15ft to the boundary of the new road reserve. 5. That when physical road widening occurs the existing house and garage shall be resited further to the east of the property at a distance to be specified by the Council. #. That the whole of the property be fenced to the County Engineer’s satisfaction with the exception of the entranceways. 7. That should a median strip be constructed in Marshland road opposite the service station no provision of a gap will be made in the median opposite the service station. 8. That any future purchasers of the property must be advised either by the present or future owners of the conditions relating to the approval of the service station. ». That the existing advertising sign on the southern boundary of the service station be removed. 10. That adequate provision be made on the property for vehicles which have been serviced or repaired and are awaiting collection by the owners. Any person wishing to make representations against the proposal must lodge them in writing with the undersigned not later than noon on August 10, 1966, giving the reasons and stating whether that person wishes to to be heard by the Committee considering the application.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE RATES Public Notice Is hereby given pursuant to the provisions of Section 54 of the Rating Act, 1925, that it is the intention of the Cheviot County Council at a meeting to be held in the council! chambers, Cheviot, at 10 a.m. on Frday, August 12, 1966, to make and levy the following rates:— (a) Pursuant to Section 105 of the Counties Act, 1956, a General Rate of 3.0625 d (three point nought six two five pence) In the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property appearing on the valuation rolls of the county of Cheviot. (b) Pursuant to section 125 of the Counties Act, 1956, a sanitary drainage rate of 1.75 d (one point seven five pence) In the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property In the Cheviot Urban Drainage Area. (c) As directed by the Marlborough Catchment Board, an administrative rate of .16 pence (point one six pence) In the pound on the unimproved rateable value of aM rateable property situated within the county of Cheviot and within the district of the Marlborough Catchment Board. (d) The above rates to be for the period from April 1, 1966, to March 31, 1967. and to become due and payable in one sum at the County Office, Cheviot, on August 23. 1966. Such general rate and Marlborough Catchment Board Administrative rate only to be subject to a rebate of 5 per cent if paid within thirty days of due date, that is, by September 22. 1966; an additional! charge of ten per cent to be added to aIM the above rates remaining unpaid at the expiration of sex months and fourteen days from the due date thereof, that Is, to al! such rates remaining unpaid after March 19, 1967.
