S.I. TOUR PLANNED

(N.Z. Press Association) TAURANGA. The University of Adelaide men’s basketball team will make a short tour of the South Island before taking part in the New Zealand Universities’ winter tournament at Auckland next month. The tour was arranged at short notice after a tentative inquiry from a University of Adelaide player, S. Swetajurski, who toured New Zealand last' season with the Adelaide and districts basketball team. The team’s itinerary is:— August 6: Arrive Wellington; play Hutt Valley invitation at Wellington. August 8: Play West Coast at Greymouth. August 10: Play Southland at Invercargill. August 12: Play Otago at Dunedin.

August 13: Play Canterbury at Christchurch. August 14: Travel to Auckland for universities tournament

Hew Partner.—The young New Zealand lawn tennis player, B. E. Fairlie. will partner a fellow Aucklander, D. Simmonds, for his remaining seven tournaments overseas. Fairlie had played with L. A. Gerrard until Gerrard left for the United States.
