BADMINTON TEAMS
R. Serra, the improving Army player, and Mrs A. Smith (South Brighton), who is secretary of the Canterbury Badminton Association, have been brought into the Canterbury division 111 team for the match against South Canterbury at Timaru on August 6. Victory for Canterbury in this match would give it the right to contest the South Island final at Christchurch on August 20. The Canterbury junior team, which will play its South Canterbury counterpart on August 6 as well, is only one win away from success in the South Island junior competition. The Canterbury teams are:— Division III: G. G. Ford, B. G. Hadlee, E. Ogier, R. Serra, Miss S. Ching, Miss S. Dench, Mrs A. Smith, Miss L. Tucker. Junior: N. Berry, G. Ellis, B. Hands, G. A. Miller, Misses D. Bennett, K. Goddard, M. Hodgson, N. Oliver.
