The touring team finished only 35 runs ahead, having lost five of its second innings wickets for 68 runs. The West Indians were dismissed for 126 tn their first nnings and Northamptonshire by scoring 159. secured a first nnings lead of 33. It was an entertaining day s play with 25 wickets falling for 353 rune. With the bowlers dominating. C. Milburn, the Northamptonshire and England opener, was the only batsman to score a half-century. Scores: West Indies 126 (G. S. Sobers 45; A. J. Durose 3/4C. H Sully 3(10) and 68 '5. Northamptonshire 159 (C. Nttburn 57; £. S. G.bbs 4/42, Sobers 2/40). One-day Came Reduced to a one-day match after rain had washed out the previous two days’ play, the West Indies beat Surrey bv seven wickets on Friday. Scores- Surrey 188’9 (M. .1 Edwards 108 not out; C. C. Griffith 3/26). West Indies 101/3 (P. Lashley 75 not out. S. M Nurse 73).
