No Trace Of Trophy
The North Island amateur golf championship trophy has not been presented since 1962 because it cannot be found. The New Zealand Golf Association has sent circulars to all clubs and associations in an effort to trace the trophy. Bearing the engraving “North Island Amateur (Close) Championship.” tile trophy is in the form of a map of the North Island and is mounted on a wooden base.
The 1966 championship will be played at the Te Awamutu Golf Club on August 20 and 21.
