6000 MORE VEHICLES
Registrations In Clich. Six thousands more motor vehicles than last year had been registered in the Christchurch postal district this year—141,464 compared with last year’s 135,105, said the chief postmaster (Mr M. E. Wilson). The busiest day had been June 30, when 13,547 vehicles had been registered. There had been no queues, except on June 30 when persons had had to wait no longer than three or four minutes. More owners had relicensed by post this year: 4569 compared with 1379 in 1965.
