Market In Balance As Week’s Trading Closes
Rises and falls were almost in balance as the week’s trading came to a close yesterday. Turn-over was down, but the market ranged more widely and there were more fluctuations than the day before. Key stocks held a steady level.
N.Z. Refrigerating notes featured among the advances with a rise of Is to 14s, making a gain of Is 3d in little more than a week. Taupo Totara firmed 2d to 9s 9d ex dividend and the notes rose 7d to 6s. Lane Walker recovered 3d to 16s and Prestige sold 3d up at Ils. Quill Morris lost Is to 20s in first sales for 10 days, while Wellington Publishing fell 6d more to 19s 6d. McKenzies lost 3d to Bs—a new low level.
