FOXOMAN FIT FOR AWAPUNI

PALMERSTON NORTH. The Tararua Hack Plate topweight, Lady Wild, was not impressive in her final trial at Awapuni yesterday and will drop from favour for the second leg of the Manawatu Hunt Club’s double tomorrow.
The Hunt Cup candidates, Foxoman and Saturnian, schooled welt over country, with Foxoman especially impressive over five fences.
On the inside trial the out-of-
over the last three In 42 3-ssec and should be hard to beat in the Collinson Bracelet.
Trlomphe and Tempus covered half a mile in 53 3-ssec, the last three furlongs in 39 l-ssec. Trlomphe should be hard to beat in the hack steeplechase. Foxoman outjumped Al Pedro over the final few fences of a school over five steeplechase obstacles. Foxoman faces a hard task in his jumping debut in the Manawatu Hunt Cup, but on his track displays he may not be found wanting. Saturnian jumped three fences weM. although he reached for the second. He Is another w-ith good prospects 1-n the Hunt Cup. J. Hely will ride him.
Sir Lake, another of Awapunl’s promising 'chasers, jumped five steeplechase fences without error although he did not have much pace. He might make a good showing in the McEwen Steeplechase.
