Fewer Fluctuations On Mainly Steady Market

Fewer fluctuations in trading yesterday marked an even steadier trend to the market. Turn-over was slightly above that of the day before and the range narrowed. Falls were headed by rises, but key stocks were almost in balance. Donaghy’s Rope 10s units sold for the first time at 26s 6d—up lid ex dividend. First ex dividend sales of Mason Brothers were 6d up at 16s 9d. Hellaby, in the unlisted section, added another 2s to sell at 48s—a gain of 4s 6d in two days.

Rickstan gained 6d more to 4s. its highest price since last year and Is higher than two weeks ago. Bonds lost 9d to 14s and Schofield Is 3d to 48s 3d. Fletcher at 19s. Hallenstein Brothers at 33s 6d and Phillips and Impey at 11s 3d each lost 6d.
