HIS OWN BACK

‘‘The Press” Special Service

AUCKLAND, July 21. A farmer some distance from Warkworth recently requested that the Rodney County Council impound a cow on his property. He claimed trespass fees for 18 days’ sustenance.

The council impounded the animal and advertised that unless it was claimed and expenses were paid it would be sold. Eight days later the farmer discovered that it was his own cow and upon payment of £8 16s he got it back.
