Manslaughter Charge

A Magistrate’s Court at Saffron Walden yesterday committed Major William Oliver Smedley for trial on a charge of manslaughter. Major Smedley had been charged with the murder of Reginald Calvert, manager of the pop pirate station, Radio City, at Wendons Ambo, Essex, but the Court decided to proceed with the lesser charge.
