Nat. Mort. Change Hands In Dunedin
National Mortgage has joined the list of overseas stocks traded since a Budget clause restricted trading in this section. A parcel of 1200 changed hands in the late sale in Dunedin on Tuesday at 10s 3d sterling and was reported yesterday. Last sales before the Budget were at Ils 6d on June 15. McKendrick Consolidated, boosted until earlier this week by takeover rumours, fell sharply yesterday to sell 9d down at 3s 6d—the same level as the Monday before last—after the possibility of take-over was discounted by the company’s chairman. Generally the market was little changed on the day before with falls again just ahead of rises, but key stocks were slightly firmer. Turnover was steady and the range was wider.
