Title Fight Gist £5000

(N.I. Press Association) WELLINGTON. A British Empire professional title fight for the New Zealand light-weight champion, Manoel Santoe, could cost the Wellington Boxing Association as much as £5OOO, according to the chairman, Mr B. F. O’Brien. The association hopes to match Santos with the titleholder, Bunny Grant, of Jamaica, in Wellington later this year or early next year. Santos’s preparations will include at least three bouts, two in Wellington and one in Auckland. Santos will meet the Filipino Jesse Del Valle on July 27, and David Patterson, the Nevada State champion, on August 15.
