Prepared For The Worst

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, July 19. Telegrams can often give people a nasty shock when they read them on the doorstep. But telegram boys in Cardiff are now well prepared to meet any emergency. Most of Cardiff’s messenger boys have just passed firstaid examinations and are fully qualified to treat “door-step-shock." The “be prepared” plan is the idea of Cardiff’s head postmaster (Mr G. M. Walsh). "Telegrams do sometimes contain bad news and a woman could collapse on her doorstep,” he said. “So 18 of the boys have been trained to adult first-aid standards to deal with such emergencies.”
