Urdu-tuition Language
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter) LAHORE. University authorities have started a move to introduce Urdu, the language spoken by the people of West Pakistan, as the medium of instruction for science subjects. English is still the main language in education and official life in Lahore. The Punjab University has appointed Dr. Nazir Ahmed to prepare textbooks and reference books on zoology in Urdu and to standardise technical terms. Urdu is already being used to teach some university arts subjects. Similar moves are being made to .introduce Bengali to replace English in East Pakistan.
