TRIBUTE TO POPE JOHN
Polish Priests Warned (N.Z.P.A. -Reuter—Copyright) KIELCE (Central Poland), July 18. Archbishop Boleslaw Komlnek of Wroclaw (Breslau), western Poland, yesterday urged Roman Catholic priests in his diocese to boycott Government-sponsored ceremonies on Tuesday honouring Pope John XXIII. He said the ceremonies were politically inspired to injure church unity and damage the country’s Primate, Stefan Cardinal Wyszynski. The church and the Communist State have organised separate celebrations throughout this year to mark 1000 years of Christianity in Poland and the 1000th anniversary of Polish nationhood.
