Laser Beam Technique (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) TOKYO, July 19. A Japanese company claims it has developed a means to halve the two years needed to put a new car into production —by using the Laser beam. The company, Hitachi Ltd., said the technique was to run the Laser beam over the designer’s full-size clay model and then feed the data into a computer. A numerical control-type milling machine linked to the computer would then turn out parts for easy assembly.
