MEN PLEAD GUILTY
Caught When Blowing Safe (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 18. One of the two men arrested by armed police in the Ministry of Works premises at Penrose the evening after a £15,000 payroll had been delivered there, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence today. Peter Fulcher, aged 26, unemployed, appeared before Mr H. Jenner Wily, S.M., for sentence on charges of breaking and entering the premises and of being in possession of instruments that, in the circumstances, were intended to be used for burglary. “You were caught redhanded by the police while trying to blow a safe. You must expect a very heavy sentence,” said the Magistrate. Fulcher pleaded guilty. The other man, John Sidney West, aged 39, unemployed, also convicted on the same charge, was remanded for a week. He also pleaded guilty.
