Mukupai (K. A. Aitken) ran keenlv throughout his trial over five furlongs in Imin 2 2-ssec, the last half-mile in 52 l-ssec. Dutch Prince sprinted half a mile in 54sec, the final three furlongs in 41sec. Dutch Prince was given a spell recently and has returned looking a much better horse. He should go well on his home track. Mammoth, a stable-mate of Dutch Prince, was to have started in the maiden event also, but is suffering from a stomach complaint and will be withdrawn.

Baudelaire <K. Coombe) and Abdication <K. A. Aitken) ran half a mile in 52 4-ssec, the last three furlongs in 40 l-ssec. Abdication. which is engaged in the apprentice riders’ event at Levin, was a length and a half in front on the line and appeared to be working well within himself.
