Leprosy Project

“The Mission to Lepers is to launch out On a project different from anything else it has tackled,” said the Rev. Murray Feist, the mission’s New Zealand Secretary. With the Ethiopian Government, the Society for Rehabilitation of the Disabled, and American Leprosy Missions, the mission is establishing the All African Leprosy and Rehabilitation Training Centre at Addis Ababa. Through the active support of Emperor Haile Selassie, the Princess Zenebewerk Leprosy Hospital in Addis Ababa is being handed over to the missions concerned, but alterations and new buildings will cost at least £170,000. The Mission to Lepers will provide and support several staff members and contribute towards capital and maintenance costs.
