The Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) opened a new flood pump, the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, which, when the drain to the sea is closed at high tide, will pump rainwater from 12,000 acres in the Moutoa Drainage Board’s area at 3,500.000 gallons an hour. Previously this water ran into a main drain which meets the sea in the Foxton tidal estuary. Last week, in a pre-opening emergency, the pump removed deep water from 4000 acres. USK the advertisemcnis in "The Press ’ to plan your buying. They will save you man\ hours of Shopping Time
