Two of the three prisoners who escaped from New Plymouth on Friday were recaptured on Saturday afternoon while sitting on a blanket listening on a transistor radio to the Lions-Ail Blacks test match. Owen Francis McCauley. aged 25, and lan Rangitaniwha Peina. aged 25, offered no resistance when discovered by Constable D. Mills, of Okato. Constable Mills was one of about 30 policemen, accompanied by two police dogs, who were

aearching the Waiwakaiho river valley when the men were found at 3.40 p.m. The two men will appear in the Magistrate’s Court at New Plymouth tomorrow charged with escaping from lawful custody. The search continued for Raymond Lester Murray, aged 25. The Dannevirke police tonight reported that a man answering the description of Murray had been given a lift by a motorist to Takapau, 22 miles north of Dannevirke, yesterday afternoon.
