Gift For Mr P. C. Burdett
The United Kingdom Trade Commissioner for the South Island (Mr P. C. Burdett), who will return to England soon, was bidden farewell by the council of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association and other businessmen on Thursday evening. Mr J. R. Bolton, who formerly held a similar post at Accra, Nigeria, will replace Mr Burdett on July 28. The president of the association (Mr C. W. Mace) presented Mr Burdett with a travel rug. Mr Burdett, who has been in New Zealand for two years, said that. when he retired from the service in 1969, he would come back to New Zealand and he and his wife might come here to live.
