Revenue Rises 17.5 p.c. (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, July 15. Alitalia showed a profit of more than 2,278,560 dollars for the yejr ended December 31 last. Announcing this, Alitalia's general manager for Australia and New Zealand, Mr G. Miceli-Picardi, said the profit increase was well above average for the aviation industry. “It was all the more Impressive as it was the eighteenth successive year in which Alitalia had declared a profit,” he said. “The balance-sheet showed total revenue for the company rose by 17.5 per cent to 178,571,000 dollars. Dividend “A dividend of 5 per cent on common and preferred shares would be paid and 107.000 dollars would be set aside in a reserve fund.” Australia and New Zealand offices had made a worthy contribution to the over-all result in traffic and cargo figures, Mr Miceli-Picardi said. “Passengers carried rose by 13.3 per cent to 3,000,126 and passenger miles covered showed an increase of 54 per cent. “Miles flown on all routes rose by 5.4 per cent to more than 72m miles,” Mr MiceliPicardi said.
