Harrison Appeal
Contributions made in Christchurch to the John Harrison Memorial Fund now total £14,282 10s. The national appeal will close tomorrow. Yesterday “The Press” received £167 10s, making £5611 10s since the appeal opened on June 27.
One of the trustees yesterday received £55 15s, which included £lO 10s from the Auckland Associated Mountain Clubs. Among other contributions received in Christchurch yesterday were £3O from the Papanui-Belfast Jaycees, and £ll 17s from the customers of the Wentworth Dairy. Yesterday “The Press” received donations which included £6O from the Richmond Working Men’s Club, anonymous donations of £25, £l6 Is, and £lO, £ll Us from Mr and Mrs E. L. Johnston and family, and donations of £lO from Mr and Mrs O. F. Baker, the committee of the Fendalton Free Kindergarten, and the North Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Deerstalkers’ Association.
