Licensing Laws

Sir, —1 do hope that readers will not assume that the Presbyterian Church is behind the report of its committee dealing with liquor problems, as reported in your paper bn July 13, advocating extended hours for drinking. This is only a report from a committee and as yet has not been received or ratified by the church. That it has managed to get into print and with headlines on the front page reveals very poor management somewhere; and the note that the Christchurch Presbytery had no comment to make is a sad state of affairs not. at all acceptable to many sincere Presbyterians.—Yours, etc., A PRESBYTERIAN. July 13, 1966.
