DEPORTED INDIAN

No Application For Re-entry Relatives and a lawyer are still waiting to receive an application for a re-entry permit to New Zealand from John Persad, the 27-year-old Indian metal-worker who was taken from his work in Christchurch last Thursday and deported before he could say goodbye to his wife. Yesterday his wife received a letter from Mr Persad in Fiji in which he spoke of an earlier letter, which has not been received.

A brother-in-law, Mr A. Effort!, said last evening that Mrs Persad and relatives could do nothing until an application was received.
