No Change To Metric System
fN.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 12. The Government had not yet decided whether to change to metric weights and measures, although chemists and hospitals now used the metric system for drugs, the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) told Parliament today. Mr Lake said any change would be a long-term project, as was the case in Britain, where a decision to change had been made. It would not be practicable to make the change at the same time as the change to decimal currency.
