The United States Under-Seeretary of State, Mr George Ball, said yesterday that polls showed a rise in United States public approval of the conduct of the Vietnam war since the bombing of oil installations in the north. He drew a degree of encouragement from the bearing the bombing may have in the long run on North Vietnam’s view of the prospects of the war.
