HELICOPTER SQUADRON
Withdrawal By Australia (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) CANBERRA, July 11. The Royal Australian Air Force is withdrawing its No. 5 Helicopter Squadron from Malaysia, the Air Minister, Mr Peter Howson, announced today. The squadron was dispatched to Butterworth base in July, 1964, and has been operating in support of ground forces in Western Malaysia and along the Thai-Malaysian border.
It will now be returned to the R-A.A.F. base at Canberra to take the place of units dispatched to South Vietnam.
