EMERGENCY LANDlNG.—Technicians checking a United States X15 rocket plane which made an emergency landing on a dry lake near Tonopah, Nevada, after engine failure in flight. The pilot was not injured and the aircraft suffered little damage. It was the first time the plane had flown with two external fuel tanks.
