Finished from a long way back for third to Whakamoa at Hastings at last start. 4313 WHAKAMOA (11) 8-3. Beat Elkayel at Hastings two starts ago and third on the same course at latest outing. 3131 CERTAIN (8) 8-2.—Last-start winner over a mile
at Maramarua Hunt meeting at second open-ciass start. 0481 CHATTY LADY (7) 7-10.— Won the feature event at the Egmont - Wanganui Hunt meeting at last start, although previous form was rather weak. 0901 MONTY’S GOLD (1) 7-10.— Revels in heavy going and scored a five-length win over Count Filou at Hawera at last start. 2159 VIGOUR (12) 7-10.—Beat Lei in Palmerston North Handicap at Awapuni last month, but more recent efforts have been disappointing. Will appreciate heavier ground. 9229 COUNT FILOU (4) 7-9. Second in this race last vear and, although one of the oldest flat racers in commission, was placed twice at recent Hawera meeting. 0700 SPARKLING MAID (15) 7-9. —Recent form has been poor, but on her day is capable in winter conditions. 9600 CARNMOR (2) 7-7.—Form poor. 4359 REGAL RULER (10) 7-7. Unplaced in hack hurdles on first day, but capable winter galloper on flat. Fifth on flat at Avondale before Saturday’s run. 1178 TREBLE (13) 7-7.—Best form has been as hurdler. 0060 TRIPLE BEL (6) 7-7.—Form poor. 3.25 p.m.— MEMBERS’ HANDICAP, £1500: 7f. 1361 DAVID JEFF (6) 9-2.—Won over six furlongs on Saturday and must be considered again in spite of weight rise. 1150 LE PLUS (17) 9-I.—Most recent racing has been over middle distances, but is also a capable wet weather sprinter. Won over this distance at Woodville in April at last sprint start. 1152 QUEEN’S POET (4) 9-1 Close second in Whyte Handicap on Saturday and won twice at Ellerslie before that. 1936 PRINCESS TALARIA (1) 8-13.—Failed in Whyte Handicap after having every chance, but previous form good. 5029 WIRI (11) 8-12.— Failed in the conditions in Saturday’s Whyte Handicap, but good northern form suggests he is better than that. 2240 KINTYRE (10) 8-9.—Was well beaten in Whyte Handicap. but Is thought to have ricked a joint in brilliant track trial earlier 8530 SHAKES*’ (21) 8-B.—Well
beaten in Whyte Handicap, but unlucky third at Washdyke before that. 9221 BIJALI (18) 8-7.—Second to Maria Mitchell at Egmont two starts ago and won there at last start. 1245 DUNRAVEN (14) 8-s.—Close up fifth in sprint on first day and earlier form sound. 1666 BEIRA (15) 8-4.—Recently resumed after a spell and well beaten at Egmont 7087 TOURED*’ (8) 8-4.—Form 4854 COLONIAL KING (3) 8-I. Last-start fourth over middle distance at Egmont, but has sprinted well in winter going before. 6565 CARNBEG (5) 8-o.—Form weak. 0000 COMRADE (13) 8-o.—Form poor. 6540 EQUALITY (7) 8-o.—Failed badly on Saturday when favourite for sprint and recent form disappointing, the best effort being a fourth at Hastings two starts ago. 1227 GARNISHEE (9) 8-o.—First start in open company. Failed over middle distance at Egmont last start, but earlier form good. 0009 LOYAL RULER (2) 8-o.
