TRAWLER DAMAGED

Cradle Bearer Collapsed

The trawler Pieton was' damaged when a cradle bearer! collapsed on the Lyttelton] Patent Slip on Saturday morn- i Ing. The trawler’s wooden hull was pierced and fractured on either side of the keel about amidships. The Picton, which is owned by the Picton Fishing Company, is commanded by Captain A. S. Aberdein. She has been crayfishing in the Chathams and was to have been slipped for underwater cleaning and checking. Her master said she might now have to remain on the slip for several weeks for repairs.

Formerly the Koau, the 150ton Picton has a crew of six.
