Forecast: Canterbury, Nelson and Marlborough.—Southwesterlies, freshening at times in exposed areas; long fine periods, some snow showers in the mountains and a few showers are likely elsewhere, especially in exposed eastern coastal areas; cold. Buller and Westland. —South-westerlies, freshening at times; cloudy and cold, with showers; some snow in the ranges. Outlooks—All districts: Some showers, chiefly in western areas.
