! (Special Crspdt. N.Z.T.A.) MELBOURNE. The nine-year-old New Zoa- | land-bred jumper. Gold Rebel, had to be destroyed at Fleming toh on Saturday—-one week after he had won the Grand National {Hurdle.
Gold Rebel fractured a pastern while running second in the Douttagalila Hurdile. and was bulled up by his jockey, J. Hard Ing, who rode him to his National victory. Gold Rebel was the 100/1 out slder of the field when he won the rich Grand National.
