FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A disturbed south-west airstream covers New Zealand. Forecast:

Canterbury and coastal Marlborough.—Southwesterlies freshening at times in exposed areas; some showers, chiefly about the ranges and along the coast; cold with snow on the high country. Central Marlborough and Nelson.—Southwesterlies, fresh at times; mainly fine and cool; showers about the ranges.

Buller and Westland.—South-westerlies, fresh at times in exposed areas; variable skies with occasional showers; cold with some snow on the ranges.
