YEAR’S HAUL £27,000
Contraband In Auckland (N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, July 8. Auckland customs officials seized more than £27,000 in contraband during the last 12 months, one of their richest harvests. Mr N. M. Clark, the chief boarding officer in Auckland, said that from 56 ships inspected in the Auckland harbour, customs officers had seized 2000 radios, 539 watches, 379 cigarette lighters, 55 binoculars, 10 cameras, eight television sets, and more than 90,000 cigarettes.
