SILAGE MAKING MACHINERY.—This is one of two new trailers for handling herbage for silage shown to dealers from all parts of the South Island, who handle vacuum silage equipment, when they attended a conference in Christchurch this week. The trailers have been developed by Messrs R. Bullock and S. Uren. Both trailers are fully automatic in that their load can be discharged by the driver while the tractor is still in motion. In the case of the trailer shown in this photograph a remote hydraulic ram connected to the tractor activates a front-mounted moving panel, which is connected to the rear door of the trailer, and is capable of discharging a load of about three tons of material and returning the door to the closed position while the tractor is still in motion.
