1967 Ploughing Title
Although the final of the New Zealand ploughing championship will be decided at Gore on July 30, the ploughing calendar for the next few months will be a busy one. The winner and runner-up at this month’s final will represent New Zealand at the world ploughing championships to be held near Christchurch next May. However, from September until next April, ploughing match associations will hold qualifying events to select competitors for the 1967 New Zealand final, to be held on the day before the world match starts. The winner of this event will then represent New Zealand at the world championships due to be held in Rhodesia in the autumn of 1968.
An official of the 1967 world contest organising committee pointed out this week that if the winner and runner-up at the New Zealand champion- | ships later this month have
the world championships in Rhodesia in mind, then they would have to qualify again at the fixtures to be staged in the next few months.
