FOUR LIFE MEMBERS
Four men with a total of 92 years as officers of the New Brighton Trotting Club were elected life members at the club’s annual meeting. They were Messrs O. Hutchinson, A. G. Jamieson, A. McDonald, and S. J. Moore, all of whom have been president for a two-year term. Mr Hutchinson has been a member of the club for 28 years. For all but two of them he has been a steward. He was president from 1945 until 1947. Mr McDonald and Mr Moore have been members of the club for 25 years. Mr McDonald, president from 1959 until 1961, has been a steward for 23 years, and Mr Moore, president from 1955 until 1957, for 20 years. Mr Jamieson has been a steward for all of his 23 years as a member. He was president from 1953 until 1955, and since 1955 has been honorary treasurer. Tributes to the work for the club by the four men were paid by the president (Mr H. E. Cook) and the vice-presi-dent (Mr M. T. Dixon).
