Hotels Renew Price War
(N.Z. Press Association)
DUNEDIN, July 8.
Dunedin hotelkeepers have started a gin and vodka price cutting campaign which far surpasses any of the battles in the city’s recent whisky price war. The campaign started after one Dunedin hotel advertised a brand of gin at 26s 6d instead of the usual wholesale price of 28s. Hotelkeepers, after a meeting today, retaliated by taking about 100 inches of advertising space and offering not only gin but vodka at further reductions.
