A new company, Garnite Plastic Sales, Ltd., has been formed at Auckland to market the products of A.C.I. Plastics (N.Z.). Jointly owned by Australian Consolidated Industries and Neill, Cropper and Company, the new company will commence operations on July 1. The manager will be Mr H. C. Poole, who was previously product manager of plastic pipe and film with Neil, Cropper. This firm has marketed the output of A.C.I. Plastics for the last 16 years. The new company will enable very close liaison to be maintained between manufacturing, marketing and service of these products. Layflat Film
One of the largest plastic manufacturing companies in New Zealand, A.C.I. Plastics was the first company to extrude polythene layflat film and is one of the principal suppliers to the New Zealand Dairy Board for the packaging of milk powder marketed overseas.
The company pioneered P.V.C. cold water pipe and perforated polythene drainage pipe. It also manufactures polystyrene and A.B.S. sheet, as well as blow moulded polythene bottles and a wide range of injection and compression moulding.
