Very Steady Trading At End Of Week

Trading on New Zealand stock exchanges ended for the week yesterday on a very steady note, rises barely heading falls. Most moves were narrow. Turn-over was average, but the range was quite wide.

Leaders were ahead of the market and showed twice as many rises as falls. A. B. Consolidated at 5s 7d and United Empire Box at 10s 8d each gained Id. Whitcombe and Tombs jumped Is to reach 19s for the first time since April 5. D. McL. Wallace rose Is 3d to 10s. K.P. Drug gained 3d to 45s 9d and N.Z. Cement notes rose 6d to 28s. Dominion Breweries again lost 3d to get back to 17s. Beath at 7s sd, Auckland Gas at 7s 4d and F.T.C. at 13s 3d each lost Id. Woolworths N.Z. lost 2d to Ils 6d in Dunedin sales.
