Surtees Joins Cooper
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. The 32-year-old British driver, J. Surtees, is to join the Cooper-Maserati team, two weeks after breaking with Ferraris. An announcement from the Cooper Car Company yesterday said that Surtees would join the Austrian, J. Rindt, as Cooper-Maserati’s drivers for the remaining world championship events this season. Surtees drove a CooperMaserati in the French Grand Prix last week but was unplaced. He is currently equal third in the world championship table, three points behind the Australian, J. Brabham.
