BRITISH TANKER FINALLY SUNK.—The British naptha tanker Alva Cape in flames after being shelled by the United States Coast Guard cutter Spencer. The Alva Cape was involved in a collision in New York harbour with a United States ship, and 33 lives were lost. The tanker was shelled for three hours before she sank.
