“Instant” Geyser
(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, June 28. Hell’s Gate, a Rotorua thermal area, now has an “instant” geyser. At the flick of a switch a roaring geyser conies into action, playing to about 40ft A new 288 ft steam bore, with 1201 b pressure, is being used to feed the artificial geyser, as well as providing heat at the resort’s kiosk.
The geyser can play all day, or be turned on just before the tourist bus arrives.
