30Sec. ’Quake In Hawke’s Bay
(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, June 28. An earthquake shook Hawke’s Bay at 9.50 a.m. today for about 30 seconds with a rolling motion, but there were no reports of damage. The earthquake was reported to be strongest in the Wairoa district. It was of sufficient intensity in Wairoa to send people running into the streets as buildings swayed and rocked. The motion was also felt in Napier, Hastings and Gisborne, but not in central Hawke’s Bay. Lesser jolts were' felt last night.
